Story and Layout

So we have gotten a lot further on our storyboard. And sadly our production pass didn't show that because we kind of fumbled the animatic at the last moment so a lot of slides did not make it in. But that's ok because without those we got some good feedback from the class about the transitions we need between shots. We talked and have assigned some more slides to be created so hopefully by the next production pass the storyboard is good to go with those new transitions. And also show the ones missing from this pass because we got some feedback that near the end really needed work with transitions. Which we have but again didn't show this round. So hopefully showing those helps the end smooth out a bit. With that we have also decided to create another scene layout in Unreal.

But our progress with Unreal has been really progressing. Maybe not smoothly but it is still progressing. We have started to try figuring out all the subversion stuff. I love working with Unreal but that side of it is a whole other world to me. And with that I have also been having my fair share of issues with my Unreal level. For the layout we have been using assets from the market place and anything I got from quixel bridge was not making a material for the object when adding it to the project. Which is fine I can make the material, hook up the textures, and parent it to the material instance. But when you have to do that for each object it becomes an incredibly long process. Especially when I'm tyring to paint a forest and there are 20 different trees I need to add the material too. I tried to look up a fix to this issue because people were having the same issue. But again same thing with the subversion stuff people explaining thing to me in Unreal without visual help is not helpful to me whatsoever. So I tried to do as suggested and manually move the materials in the content folder of the Uproject but I guess I touched something I wasn't supposed to because when I opened the project again the forest I painted was just gone. So everything you see in the establishing shot I did in one day. It looks really messy so I want to go back and fix it up. Needless to say I won't be touching anything in those folders again. I am hoping to meet with Howard and discuss this issue. It is fine for now since we are in layout stage and I know we won't really have this problem later since we will be creating the textures and materials for our props anyway. Still just want to make sure I don't mess anything up again in the future because that was a lot of work just gone.
